25 July, 2008 | Maybe it’s a Librarian thing…

I was prepared to dislike “Librarian” by My Morning Jacket on principle. I had been forewarned that it contains the “hair up, glasses, sexy underneath librarian” cliché that I find a bit tiresome, being an actual librarian and all. But I listened, and then I listened again, and again, and again. Slightly haunted and wistful, here’s my favorite line:

“What is inside our head that makes us do the opposite, the opposite of what’s right…?”

Not only have I purchased the album but, looky here, MMJ will be at the Greek in Berkeley September 19th. An Indian Summer night under the stars and with these guys singing live. Who’s with me?
