Bastille Day at the de Young Museum

Absinthe

I attended my first Art Point event at the de Young Museum in San Francisco celebrating Bastille Day and all things French. Second to the exhibit “Birth of Impressionism” (no pictures allowed) was the food they set out for us.

I quite liked the Absinthe’s anise flavor – I tend to like all things that resemble anise.

There were crudites and a few other savory tidbits. The cheese was swiped away almost faster than they could slap a piece on a cracker. Hubby said he felt like Peter Parker every time he reached for one it was snatched right out from under his fingers.

The sweets were particularly stunning and delectable.

Macarons
And colorful rows of Macarons

Bardot a gogo
You could work it all off by dancing with a Ballerina from Bardot a Gogo.

And then have another macaroon.

Bastille Day has passed, but the de Young has upcoming Friday night events featuring various French cultural activities.
