Not having a knitters getaway for over a year, my knitting buddies and I were looking forward to a week at Granlibakken Resort in Tahoe City, California.
Mid-October meant that we would have crisp Fall days perfect for walks among the pines and knitting while enjoying the relaxing atmosphere.
And that’s what we got. For about 5 minutes.
This is how it looked when we arrived.
A little chilly but otherwise beautiful.
And then it started to Snow. SNOW!
At first we thought it would just provide a sweet powdered sugar dusting for the morning and then would be gone.
But NOoooo. It SNOWED all freaking night.
And through the next day.
Even the resort hadn’t prepared for the quick change of weather. The outdoor dining was still set up…
We had meals in the main lodge which meant getting over there.
Luckily we were inside most of the time.
By the end of the week it had stopped and the sun had started melting all the snow off of the tree branches and we got to take a few short walks.
I have to admit that it was beautiful.
But waaay too freaking COLD.
What did I do there? Well, that’s a whole other set of pictures.
