    21 December, 2005 | name snowflakes

Here’s a fun way to make your name festive for the holidays. You just need software that will let you manipulate text just a little. Here’s my name:

    name snowflake

    Here’s how:
Open the imaging software. (I used Photoshop Elements)
Pick a script font (mine is Blackjack) and type the name.
You can stretch it a little if you’d like to make it extend.
Next duplicate the layer, then flip it vertically so that you have a reflective image and move them together so it looks like your name is sitting on a mirror.
Then group / merge those two layers together.
Flip that whole image horizontally and put them close together.
If you remember that the first letter will always touch or overlap, you’ll get the idea quickly.
    Merge the image again.
Duplicate again and rotate it 90 degrees.
Move the images so that you make it into a cross/plus sign.
    Merge
    Duplicate
Now free rotate this layer into an X and move it into the center.
That’s all there is too it!
Once you do one, you’ll get the idea and the process gets much quicker.

If you do any, I’d love to see them.
    Have fun!
